Pastors Lisa and Matthew Schuster in front of the parsonage

Elisabeth “Lisa” Schuster was called as the pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, McClure, in June 2008.  A graduate of the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, Pr. Lisa has also earned degrees from Central PA Business School and Penn State University, where a remark made by a Penn State literature professor  prompted the then-unchurched Lisa to read the Bible from cover-to-cover.  That became the impetus for her return to the Lutheran church as an adult and her subsequent calling to the ministry.

Pastor Lisa grew up in Dover, PA, and has also lived in York, State College, Lancaster, New Holland, and Gettysburg, PA. While attending Seminary, she met and fell in love with fellow Seminarian Matthew Schuster; they were married in May 2006 at Zion (Schaeffer’s) Lutheran Church near York. When Pastor Lisa was called to Trinity, her husband was called as pastor of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, Troxelville.  The Pastors Schuster enjoy reading, hiking, traveling, camping in their travel trailer, and working as staff to their Siamese cat.

Pastor Lisa is always available to talk about whatever is on your mind. You can contact her by email at  prlschuster@yahoo.com  – or – by phone, at the parsonage, 570-658-2040, or at the church, 570-658-2262. In the case of emergency, she can also be reached by cell at 570-600-2852.
